The members of San Antonio 1st Service Platoon joined community volunteers on March 14, 2015, for a Paint-A-Thon alongside Starbucks, Goodwill San Antonio and Eastside Promise Neighborhood. Platoon Leader George Davila describes the day of service:

What an amazing day! Service platoon members along with invited partners from Starbucks and Goodwill Veteran Services showed the local community what determined organizations can accomplish in a few short hours. The work we accomplished will have leave a listing impact in the neighborhood.

Recruitment was non-stop throughout the event as veterans walked up, signed up and began to work.

Local civic leaders like Bexar County District Attorney Nicholas LaHood, County Commissioner Tommy Calvert, City Councilman District 2 Alan Warwick, Former TX State Senator (Mayoral Candidate) Leticia Van de Putte, went to work and were extremely excited about The Mission Continues in San Antonio and would like to see the service platoon’s expansion throughout the city.  Since the event we have added more than 30 new service platoon members.
